The redevelopment of the Chaparral High School campus, Scottsdale Unified School District faced a unique opportunity of working around and preserving parts of the existing 40-year-old campus. The school was rebuilt over three years, while classes were in session. The re-designed school celebrates and strengthens the heritage and culture of Chaparral High, integrating the old and the new. Inspired by the Canyon river, the design revitalizes campus student life with the architecture being a back-drop to the spaces in-between.
